Monday October 16, 2017, Toronto – At Surrey Place Centre our vision is Living Your Potential – All Your Life! In 2016-17 we provided specialized clinical services to over 7,000 individuals with developmental disabilities, autism and visual impairments, 78% of those individuals were infants, children and youth. While many of these individuals face significant communication challenges there are limited resources to provide augmentative communication aids, devices and supports. In fact, Surrey Place Centre runs the only Augmentative Communication Clinic in Toronto for both children and adults living with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
Today Cresa Toronto’s donation will provide more infants, children, youth and their families and caregivers with faster access to these critical aids, devices and supports. Research studies show that this is essential to enhancing the learning of language, form and content, resulting in significant improvements in quality of life for people. “We are thrilled to have a partnership with Cresa Toronto that has helped us match our expansion space needs with availability in the Toronto Region as well as honour our organization’s mission, vision and values.”, Mr. Alain Mootoo, Vice President of Finance and Administration of Surrey Place Centre.
Cresa Toronto was founded in 1989 as LNR Corporation. With their exclusive tenant representation focus, Cresa Toronto has been a pioneer in both the strategies and processes used in negotiating optimal results for their clients.
“We thank Cresa Toronto and Mr. Hoehn for their leadership and commitment to the many infants, children and youth that this generous gift will support and encourage other partners to join us in this important work.” Mr. Steven Finlay, Chief Executive Officer of Surrey Place Centre.
